Gear #6 - Wish Lists - If I had a $1,000 to spend on Photography gear...
When becoming a photographer the first number that most people who want to buy gear can think is usually $1,000. So this article will assume that you already have a Canon camera or equivalent and that you are looking to start your career as a photographer.
Below is a list of the gear that I would purchase with the $1,000.
Incase Bag
85mm 1.8
50mm 1.8
Yongnuo Flash
Manfrotto Tripod
Adobe CC - Photography Bundle

Incase:
This is one of the best bags I have ever owned. There are multiple sectionals available for your camera gear as well as an enclosure in the front for a 15in laptop, an Ipad, and a reflector if you have one. I have taken this bag on trips from America to India and it is undoubtedly one of the most comfortable and spacious bags I have ever owned.
85mm 1.8:
The 85mm 1.8 delivers spectacular portraits on any given day. Shoot in the sun, shoot in the shade, shoot on the foggiest day and you will find pictures to be sharp, clear and vivid. This is probably the best investment you can make on a lens that is under $400.
50mm 1.8:
The 50mm 1.8 is a great lens for capturing environmental portraits. I have used this multiple times on photo walks and have suggested this lens to numerous people who wanted to start taking there photographs to the next level. The 50mm 1.8 is an amazing performer.
Yongnuo:
When I started out in photography, I did the usual, I bought everything Canon related, including the flash. I thought I was cool, however I realized that to fire the flash off camera I had to have a radio trigger. I purchased two radio triggers from pocket wizard and though they are amazing, if I could do it again, I would go for the Yongnuo's. The Yongnuo's have a radio transmitter that can not only fire the flash but also control the intensity of the output of the flash. With the bundle above you can get two flashes and the controller for just over half the price of the Canon 430 EXII. This is a killer deal!
Manfrotto:
Everyone has at some point or the other desired a tripod and the Manfrotto's are known for their quality.
ND Filters:
Before you start to argue with me on the quality of the ND filter and that you cannot achieve a great image with this $13 kit. I want you to stop and look at this image below. Yes it was edited but not with Photoshop, instead with Lightroom, so I was able to pull back the colors that were already there in the scene without altering any of the objects in the scene.
Adobe:
Adobe has an incredible offer and if you have not already taken part in it you need to! For photographers Adobe provides you with an their finest photo editing tools - you can download and use Lightroom and Photoshop for just $9.99 a month. These are the only two photo editing programs you will ever need in your career!
Website
With the remaining amount I would suggest you start a website with Squarespace!
And with that I believe you should be all set to start your career as a photographer!
