Gear #2 - Wish Lists - Speedlites - Which one do I get?
A lot of the times beginner photographers will look into getting speedlites to light the scene and are faced with a dilemma, which Canon Speedlite do we go for? Canon has a few really good Speedlites - You will see the line up below the higher the number the better the Speedlite.
The only downside to having a Speedlite is that it will need a separate radio transmitter and that can get pricy especially if you were only wanting to test the waters of strobedom. For the Canon's speedlites that have a built in Radio Transmitter you may need to get the Canon ST - E3 - RT to get your Speedlite completely off your camera. The alternative is to getting a few Pocket Wizards one to receive and the other to transmit, both have the option to transmit and receive so you can move them about your devices freely. The benefit of using Canon's speedlite transmitter is that it has a screen allowing you to set the different flashes at different power levels individually.
I wish I had known about the Yongnuo's before as they are an affordable option providing two flashes and a radio transmitter that will fire one or more lights as well as control their output! Below is a kit that comes with two flashes and a transmitter.
